Sandrivermales extend their territory | Sandrivermales dehnen ihr Territorium aus

  Sandrivermales extend their territory

Two days ago in the morning, the Matira crew met two male lions from the Sandriver in the Survey area. The two were obviously drive out by the Nomad-Males and now looking for a new territory.

Just a few yards away lay a lioness with her boy - both of them seemed visibly exhausted, while the boy limped and the mother carried various injuries with him. Obviously, there was a struggle between the newcomers and the mother. Lions, who conquering a new Pride, usually killing the offspring of their competitors. Yesterday morning followed one of the sandrivers the injured lioness, which apparently brought their offspring to a supposedly safe place in the night and shortly thereafter the Matira team found the remains of a small lion boy. The mother had apparently lost the battle for her offspring. A sad story, which is not only bad: because for this morning the lioness was seen with a second boy, who was hide better than the first. We continue to watch ...

Angriff! | Attack!

  Attack!

This photo shows the spectacular attack of the leopard on one of the wildebeests who broke off a crossing in panic in front of the predator earlier this week. An overwhelming shot showing the superior tactics of the beautiful beast which will soon destroyed his prey. One almost wants to write of a "sublime death" of wildebeest ...

  Angriff!

  Leokill II

When the Matira crew watched a crossing of the wildebeests these days, the wildebeests (as posted in the video on FB on 22.11.'16) suddenly jumped back into panic and broke the river crossing.

After a close look was clear why: A leopard had kept the herd out and torn after a spectacular fight one of the animals.

Next weekend we will post another picture, showing the attack of the predator in a breathtaking shot.

  Leokill II

  Sad lion boy

After one of the Rongaipride lionesses died in a fight with a buffalo in mid-May 2016, this photo was taken - two days later. For the young offspring it was certainly not easy to deal with the loss in the short term. But fortunately, the family was strong and big enough ...
